Deepal G318 hybrid SUV unveiled in Dubai for MENA, blending long-range efficiency with smart all-terrain tech
Deepal unveiled the G318 hybrid SUV at an event in Dubai, continuing the expansion that followed the S05 and S07. Targeted at the Middle East and North Africa, it combines the brand’s Meteorolite Cutting design with equipment tailored for urban streets and rougher trails. The formula is likely to appeal to those who prioritize long-distance travel and varied conditions.
The G318 runs a Super Hybrid setup with two electric motors and extended electric driving capability. The 0–100 km/h sprint takes 5.9 seconds, and the fuel-to-electricity conversion is claimed at up to 3.63 kWh per liter. Underneath, the Magic-Carpet suspension brings CDC adaptive dampers, an air system, and surface-type detection, while the ET Intelligent All-Terrain suite tunes the powertrain and suspension in real time. On paper, that mix points to brisk responses and a calm ride when the pavement ends.
Equipment includes eight airbags, IACC adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and a 540-degree camera system. Inside, a large central display handles controls, supported by voice activation in English and Arabic, remote access via smartphone, and enhanced sound insulation. The bilingual voice control looks like a practical touch for the audience it targets.
The G318 uses the Golden Shield battery, noted for having no recorded fire incidents across more than 400,000 units produced. In the UAE, prices start at AED 129,900, and the model includes a 6-year/150,000-km warranty plus an 8-year/150,000-km battery warranty. The combination of track record and coverage should ease ownership concerns for mixed-use driving.
