General Motors surprised Brazil. The Chevrolet Onix Pro 2027 has just rolled into the local market — a limited hatchback that joins the refreshed Onix lineup alongside the Activ, Eco and Log trims.

And here’s the curious part. The Onix Pro is built on the cheapest MT trim — yes, the entry-level one. The naturally aspirated three-cylinder 1.0 engine stays put, the basic interior trim too. But the equipment list suddenly climbs to a level usually reserved for higher grades: 16-inch alloy wheels, a rear-view camera and seats with combined fabric and synthetic leather upholstery.

The surprises don’t end there. The Pro also gets keyless entry, push-button start, six airbags, the OnStar system and a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot. In other words, the spec sheet is anything but entry-level — and the price tag hasn’t moved much.

The Chevrolet Onix Pro is already sitting at Brazilian dealers. The run is tightly capped — just 3,750 units for the opening months of the new model year. In the lineup, the version slots above the Log trim. And it’s Brazil only — this special series isn’t crossing the border anytime soon.
