The Chinese are marching into the heart of the European car market. Chery Group has confirmed that its Chery brand will enter Germany in the first half of 2027. The German subsidiary is already registered, and the target is clear — families. Or rather, their wallets.

At launch, Chery will roll out its Tiggo SUV line-up — the weapon of choice for the battle over the German buyer. No pure electrics in the opening salvo: the bet is on hybrids, plug-in hybrids and conventional combustion versions. Under the banner of its “For Family” philosophy, the company promises functional design, safety, user-friendly technology and that famous price-to-equipment ratio with which Chinese brands keep catching Europeans off guard.

Electrification is the key growth driver for the group. From January to May 2026, sales of vehicles with alternative powertrains jumped 25.7%, to 361,761 units. Total global sales of Chery Group over the same period reached 1,100,921 vehicles, with exports accounting for 752,755. Numbers that make competitors twitch.

In Europe, Chery already has a foothold: the UK, Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania. Germany is the next frontier. The dealer network will be built using a classic franchised model, with the official search for partners kicking off in July 2026. A little over a year until sales begin. The clock is ticking.
