Alfa Romeo Tonale Diesel unveiled: 130 hp, 5.3–5.5 l/100 km, from €41,400

Alfa Romeo has completed the Tonale lineup refresh. After the hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions, a diesel variant joins the range. Orders are already open, with prices starting at €41,400.

The Tonale Diesel uses a 1.6-liter four-cylinder rated at 130 hp and 320 Nm, with peak torque available from 1,500 rpm. That early shove should make urban driving untroubled and overtakes neatly timed. Average fuel consumption is quoted at 5.3–5.5 l/100 km, depending on specification. The engine is paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, a sensible match for keeping the powerband on song, and top speed is 194 km/h.

Alongside the launch comes the Tonale Diesel Sport Speciale from €51,300. It adds 20-inch alloy wheels, an active chassis with electronically controlled dampers, a Harman Kardon audio system, Matrix LED headlights, and a cabin trimmed in black Alcantara set off by white synthetic leather. The package also includes an automated parking system, nudging the crossover toward a sportier and more premium brief while taking the edge off tight-city maneuvers.
