The Citroën that finally stops fearing the motorway now runs 679 km on a charge
Citroën has opened orders in Germany for the C5 Aircross Electric 230 Long-Range. A 97 kWh battery, 170 kW under the bonnet and up to 679 km of WLTP range — with prices starting at 49,690 euros.
An electric car that stops fearing the long haul — that is exactly what Citroën has just rolled out in Germany. The company has opened orders for the C5 Aircross Electric 230 Long-Range — the longest-legged version of the crossover yet. Prices start at 49,690 euros.
The secret sits under the floor. The front axle carries a 170 kW electric motor, but it is the battery that really impresses: 97 kWh net, or 104 kWh gross. Hence the claimed 679 km on the WLTP cycle. For those who do not need that kind of reach, the more affordable 210 Komfort-Range remains — a 73 kWh pack and a 157 kW motor.
Underneath lies the STLA Medium platform, the very one shared by its Opel and Peugeot relatives. On a DC fast charger the crossover pulls up to 160 kW: the Long-Range covers 20 to 80% in roughly 27 minutes. On AC, it is 11 kW.
The 230 Long-Range comes in two trims — PLUS and MAX. The MAX asks from 53,690 euros, and that already includes matrix LED headlights and an extended set of assistants. There is also a separate Team D special edition. Every C5 Aircross is built at the Rennes plant. For city duty this car is noticeably bigger than the usual compact EVs — but it is precisely the new range that turns it into a serious player in the family segment.
