The Hummer EV can finally charge at Tesla stations, and it still hits 60 in 2.8 seconds
The 2027 Hummer EV drops the adapter for Tesla chargers, adds five new colors, and still hits 60 mph in 2.8 seconds with 1,160 hp on tap.
Nobody expected GMC to stop at a yellow paint job for the anniversary. Instead, the whole electric Hummer lineup just got an upgrade. It’s not only about the special-edition throwback to mark 25 years of the badge — the 2027 Hummer EV gets a new charging port, extra colors, and an even more brutal powertrain.
The real story here isn’t hiding under the yellow paint. A built-in NACS port is what actually changes the game. Owners no longer need an adapter to plug into compatible fast chargers, Tesla’s Supercharger network included. For a truck with a battery this massive, that alone makes long road trips far less of a hassle. Bidirectional Vehicle-to-Home charging sticks around too: with the right GM Energy hardware, the truck can power a house during an outage.
A multi-ton off-roader turning into a giant backup battery on wheels — who saw that coming? The palette grows by five new shades: bright yellow ICON, Dark Ridge, Azurite Blue, Dark Ember, and matte Deep Void. Two new 22-inch wheel designs join the lineup as well.
Now the numbers everyone actually came for. The range-topping Hummer EV 3X Pickup with the 24-module battery pack pushes out up to 1,160 hp. Wheel torque tops out at 17,625 N·m, and this monster hits 60 mph in about 2.8 seconds. Seriously. The toy box stays intact: four-wheel steering, the diagonal CrabWalk mode, off-road King Crab, and Extract Mode air suspension — capable of lifting ride height by roughly 152 mm. The pickup keeps its full set of up to 18 cameras for tracking every corner of the truck.
The anniversary ICON | 25 package brings back the yellow that defined the Hummer H2, paired with a black interior, unique drive-mode graphics, and serialized badging. It’ll be offered on both the SUV and Pickup, in 2X and 3X trims. Production of the 2027 Hummer EV kicks off later this year at Factory ZERO in Michigan. Pricing will be announced closer to the on-sale date in the US and Canada.
