Changan Deepal S07 EV arrives in Spain: family-sized crossover with premium kit

Changan is stepping up its European push and lining up a second EV for Spain after the Deepal S05. Next comes the Deepal S07, a larger D-segment family crossover that looks to win buyers with its design and generous equipment. In Spain, the price is set at 43,990 euros, and for now it’s listed in a single trim with one powertrain.

In size, the S07 comes across as almost a five-meter car, yet it stops short: 4,750 mm long, 1,930 mm wide, with a 2,900 mm wheelbase. Practicality is part of the brief, too: the rear cargo area holds 510–1,385 liters, and there’s a 125-liter frunk. The focus is clearly on space and family duty rather than sport.

The ace up its sleeve is the standard kit. The cabin follows a minimalist theme built around a 15.6-inch central display, while the sense of premium comes from features: an AR head-up display, a 14-speaker audio system, 40-watt wireless charging, a panoramic roof with an electric shade, power seats with heating and ventilation, a heated steering wheel, a voice assistant, and even gesture control. On paper, this spec reads like a bid to sit a notch above the mainstream without sending the sticker soaring.

There is a sore point, though: range. The Deepal S07 uses a rear motor rated at 160 kW (218 hp), does 0–100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and tops out at 180 km/h. An 80 kWh battery yields 475 km of WLTP range, which for this class looks below expectations—many rivals now clear 600 km. Charging is another weak link: peak DC is just 93 kW, and between 10 and 80% it’s capped at 70 kW, so a top-up takes about 49 minutes. For Europe in 2026, that’s on the slow side.
