Nissan Serena e-Power hybrid: specs, design and Malaysia production

The sixth-generation Nissan Serena hybrid adopts the latest iteration of the brand’s e-Power system, built around a distinctive electric-drive concept. A compact 1.4‑liter three-cylinder gasoline engine, rated at roughly 98 hp and 123 Nm, doesn’t turn the wheels; its job is to generate electricity for a 1.77 kWh battery. That pack feeds a dedicated electric motor delivering up to 163 hp and a peak 315 Nm, keeping the driving character squarely in the electric camp.

Outside, the new Serena evolves without losing the model’s familiar identity. The front end has been rethought: a V‑Motion grille is set off by an integrated horizontal LED light strip, while the headlamps gain sharper contours and modern LED units. The fog lights have been updated as well, bringing a cleaner, more contemporary look that fits neatly with Nissan’s current design language.

For the first time, production of the new Nissan Serena will be localized in Malaysia, a milestone for the country’s automotive market.

Pricing details remain under wraps for now; the manufacturer plans to announce exact figures closer to the start of sales.
