Brazil hasn't seen this SUV yet, and 70 dealer groups already want in

Chery unveiled its plan for iCAUR in Brazil: the V27 launches in early 2027 through 50 dealerships, while 70+ dealer groups are already fighting for a spot.

Chery isn’t just bringing a car to Brazil — it’s bringing an entire dealer network to sell it. At the Festival Interlagos, the company laid out the plan in full: sales of the large V27 will kick off in the first half of 2027, backed by a network of 50 showrooms. And demand has already blown past that target — more than 70 dealer groups are lining up for a shot at the brand.

Next in line, also arriving in 2027, is the smaller V25. The V23, though, is being held back on purpose: Chery’s Brazilian arm wants to wait for the next-generation version, which hasn’t even launched in China yet. So that model won’t show up until the second phase of the rollout — in 2028.

The brand’s first product will be the V27, measuring 5,045 mm long with a 2,900 mm wheelbase. Under the skin sits a series hybrid REEV setup: a 1.5-liter turbo engine works purely as a generator, while electric motors handle the actual driving. The all-wheel-drive version is rated at 335 kW — about 455 hp — and 505 Nm of torque. Final specs for the Brazilian-market version haven’t been locked in yet, so the 1,000–1,200 km total range figures quoted in other markets shouldn’t be assumed to carry over here.

Here’s the twist: the V27 is already old news on the Russian market, where it sells under the local Esteo badge, while iCAUR in Europe is only just getting its own expansion underway. The European-spec V27 offers versions with up to 456 hp, 224 mm of ground clearance, and wading depth of up to 600 mm.

Until recently, trademark filings for iCar and iCaur had left the fate of the original brand name up in the air — the V27 reached dealers under a different badge entirely. Brazil is playing out the opposite scenario: Chery is building an independent brand from day one, complete with its own network and a multi-model lineup.

The next milestone to watch isn’t another V27 reveal — it’s whether those first 50 dealerships actually materialize, and when the final Brazilian specs get published. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet.
