This six-seat electric giant hides one of its best tricks up front
The six-seat Denza N8L EV launches on September 14 with a 130.15 kWh battery, 370 kW rear motor and a giant 208-liter powered front trunk.
The Denza N8L EV is getting ready to surprise with more than just an enormous battery. The six-seat electric SUV now has an exact launch date — September 14. And the numbers already demand attention: the latest filing lists a 370 kW rear electric motor, or roughly 503 hp.
But the most intriguing part is up front. With no engine under the hood, Denza has turned the freed-up space into a huge 208-liter powered front trunk. The company is already showing it in official material: the compartment has a two-level layout and lets owners keep part of their luggage separate from the main cargo area. For a six-seat SUV, that is no small detail.
Then the numbers get even more interesting. Chinese certification data reveals the QCJ6520APBEV1 version with a 370 kW rear motor, a 130.15 kWh battery and a claimed range of up to 960 km on the CLTC cycle. The documents also list energy consumption at 15.3 kWh/100 km. The giant measures 5,200 × 1,999 × 1,820 mm with a 3,075 mm wheelbase, while top speed reaches 240 km/h.
Lightweight is not a word anyone will use here. The N8L EV filing gives a curb weight of 2,900 kg and a gross vehicle weight of 3,430 kg. There is also an important distinction between two related models. A three-motor setup rated at up to 890 kW was widely discussed in July for the electric N8/N8L family, but that configuration is confirmed primarily for the five-seat N8. The current filing for the six-seat N8L lists a single 370 kW rear motor. So giving it nearly 1,200 hp before the premiere would be a leap too far.
The big question left is price. For reference, the current N8L Flash Charging PHEV starts at 319,800 yuan in China. That is only a benchmark: Denza is expected to reveal pricing for the fully electric N8L at the September 14 launch.
