Belgium gets a cheaper Geely E2 before the official launch
Geely's E2 has reached Belgian showrooms early and, with a temporary discount, slips below the BYD Dolphin Surf and Citroën ë-C3 on price.
The Geely E2 has not even had its official Belgian launch yet, and it is already shaking up the price list. The electric hatchback has appeared in Maurin Belgium showrooms in Bruges, Ostend and Roeselare ahead of the public debut, while the special Explore & Drive Days with test drives in Roeselare are only scheduled for September 11–12.
And this is where things get interesting. The base E2 Pro is currently offered in Belgium for €19,490. That figure already includes a temporary €2,000 discount; without it, the price rises to €21,490.
While the promotion lasts, Geely really does undercut its closest rivals. The BYD Dolphin Surf Active starts at €20,261 in September, while the Citroën ë-C3 Urban Range YOU starts at €20,290. That leaves the E2 cheaper by €771 and €800 respectively. A win? For now, yes. But there is a catch: all three prices are promotional, so the order could change at any moment.
The hardware brings no nasty surprises either. Three E2 versions have been officially confirmed. The Pro gets a 35 kWh battery and 252 km of WLTP range, while the Max and Ultra use a 47 kWh pack and offer up to 345 km. Equipment also includes rear-wheel drive, a 375-litre boot, a 70-litre front storage compartment, seven airbags and a huge 14.6-inch infotainment screen.
Motor output is where caution is needed. Geely's Belgian page does not currently specify this figure for the local range, so the 85 kW number seen in other sources should not automatically be applied to every E2 sold in Benelux. In other European markets, output also varies by trim.
Geely officially announced Belgian E2 pricing on August 3, opening pre-orders and saying the first cars would reach dealers in September. That promise has now been kept: the cars are already in showrooms. The next key date is September 11–12, when public test drives of the newcomer will take place in Roeselare.
