This Land Cruiser went to Hawaii and came back on 37s
MJ Motorsports skipped the horsepower chase and transformed the Land Cruiser with 37-inch rubber, Eibach Stage 2R suspension and a far tougher off-road stance.
Hawaii has done something to the Toyota Land Cruiser that few owners would dare: put the SUV on enormous 37-inch tires. And there was no chase for extra “horses”. MJ Motorsports took a different route and seriously reworked the vehicle’s geometry with Eibach Stage 2R suspension, 17x9-inch BBS TS-P wheels with zero offset and Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T 37x12.5 R17 tires.
On paper, the numbers are imposing. The nominal diameter of this tire is about 940 mm, while its width is roughly 318 mm. Eibach itself lists up to 3 inches of front adjustment for the Land Cruiser J250 Stage 2R, or around 76 mm, while the rear springs provide about 38 mm of lift. But there is an important catch: MJ Motorsports has not disclosed the exact setup used on this particular Land Cruiser. So it would be wrong to assume the truck is running the maximum lift.
But this is about more than a few extra centimeters. Stage 2R combines adjustable front coilovers, rear springs and remote-reservoir shocks. Eibach positions the kit as a way to fine-tune ride height and improve off-road capability. And that is exactly where those 37-inch tires are supposed to justify the whole conversion.
What about the engine? No revolution there. The project’s builders do not report any powertrain changes. The U.S.-spec Toyota Land Cruiser uses a 326-hp i-FORCE MAX hybrid system, full-time four-wheel drive, plus locking center and rear differentials. In other words, MJ Motorsports focused not on chasing power but on geometry, ground clearance and traction.
The final look is pushed even further with a roof rack, auxiliary lighting and a striking yellow-and-black finish. Yet the workshop has kept the most interesting details out of sight. What is the actual lift on this specific truck? Did the wheel arches need cutting or modification? And what happened to the alignment geometry after fitting 37-inch tires? Those answers will reveal whether this is a serious off-road tool or, above all, a spectacular Hawaiian show truck.
