This 10-seat Hiace goes straight from makeover to premium rental duty
J-Club’s Hiace NOIR skips dealer showrooms and heads straight into premium rental service, with 10 seats, 18-inch wheels and a 150 cm-high cabin.
Toyota Hiace NOIR is not something you will find on an ordinary dealer price list — and that is exactly the point. Japan’s J-Club created this version specifically for the premium EL RENTAL CAR service. Reservations open on September 24 at Tourism EXPO Japan 2026 in Tokyo, at the same time as the vehicle makes its exhibition debut.
The NOIR is based on the updated Japanese Hiace commonly referred to as Type 9. Toyota officially unveiled this update on January 13, while sales of the refreshed Van, Wagon and Commuter versions began on February 2. One of the biggest changes was a more advanced Toyota Safety Sense package, now including radar cruise control.
But J-Club did not stop there. The NOIR gets Black Mica paint, a front splitter, a different rear bumper, LED lights and original 18-inch wheels. The cabin keeps ten seats and adds contrasting seat covers, a table and USB ports at the front and at two points in the rear. Claimed interior height reaches an impressive 150 cm.
And this is where it gets interesting. In this project, the Hiace is not just another base for a flashy show camper or concept van. EL RENTAL CAR is putting the NOIR straight into its own rental fleet and plans to offer tourism companies monthly contracts as well. In other words, this vehicle is heading into real commercial service rather than posing on a stand for photos.
The big question is what that luxury will cost. J-Club has not yet disclosed the NOIR rental rate, booking-duration limits or pricing for monthly contracts. Those figures will show just how far this premium Hiace moves beyond the cost of a conventional minibus rental.
