Renault Captur in South Africa: refreshed interior, trims, prices
Renault Captur arrives with a refreshed cabin centered on a digital instrument cluster that keeps all essential information in clear view. A generous touchscreen for the infotainment system makes it easy to set up navigation and music, and pairs devices via Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi. The interface is straightforward, the kind drivers adapt to quickly.
The car supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, smoothing out the way a smartphone connects with the vehicle. The Espirit Alpine version also adds heated front seats, a detail that noticeably lifts comfort when temperatures drop.
South African buyers can choose from three trims: Techno at 515,999 rand ($28,500), Iconic at 544,999 rand ($30,000), and the premium Espirit Alpine priced at 614,999 rand ($34,000).
Under the hood, the updated crossover uses a 1.3‑liter turbocharged engine rated at 154 hp. It works with a seven‑speed DCT automatic, a pairing aimed at smooth gear changes and solid fuel efficiency. Average consumption is around 6.6 liters per 100 km, a figure that should suit both city commutes and longer trips.
The refreshed Captur offers four drive modes: “Comfort,” “Eco,” “Sport,” and “Personal,” with the last allowing drivers to tailor settings to their preferences. This flexibility broadens the car’s character without complicating everyday use.
