The pause looks pragmatic. Demand has trailed expectations and dealer lots have built up inventory, so the priority is to move current cars and straighten out logistics.

The numbers didn’t help perception either: in the U.S., the ID. Buzz starts at about $61,500, a figure many see as high for a family van, and a range in the 231–234 mile bracket doesn’t make a compelling case against rival EVs. That price-to-range balance is the kind of mismatch that cools early enthusiasm.
