Jaguar ends the combustion era: final F-Pace SVR built, brand commits to an EV-only future
Jaguar has drawn a decisive line under the combustion era: the Solihull plant built the brand’s final fuel-powered car last week. The farewell model was a black F-Pace SVR with a 5.0-liter supercharged V8—an ending that feels apt for a marque with deep performance roots.
According to SPEEDME.RU, the car was handed over to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust in Gaydon. There was no official ceremony, yet the outcome is clear: petrol and diesel Jaguars are now part of the past. Dealer stock of the F-Pace is expected to keep sales going into 2026.
Jaguar has been pacing toward this moment since mid-2024, retiring models one after another: the XE, XF, E-Pace, the electric I-Pace, and the F-Type. The brand now prepares for a relaunch as a fully electric marque within JLR, part of the Tata group.
The EV-only pivot was laid out back in 2021, and Jaguar hasn’t deviated, even as some rivals adjust their promises amid softer demand for EVs and ongoing debate about post-2035 combustion limits in Europe. That consistency stands out in a segment that has recently grown cautious.
The visual direction for this new chapter was flagged by the Type 00 concept and a rebrand that sparked strong reactions. At the same time, journalists were shown camouflaged prototypes of a future large electric GT about 5.4 meters long; a three-motor setup and more than 1,000 hp have been mentioned. Orders are expected in mid-2026, with deliveries in 2027—targets that, if achieved, would redraw expectations for the badge.
