Ford Puma finishes 2025 as Europe’s 7th best-selling crossover
According to Automotive News, the Ford Puma ended 2025, based on preliminary figures, among Europe’s ten best-selling crossovers, taking seventh place with 141,423 sales.
In other words, the Puma trails only the Volkswagen T-Roc (196,246), Volkswagen Tiguan (180,683), Toyota Yaris Cross (174,567), Peugeot 2008 (160,104), Dacia Duster (157,004) and Citroën C3 (144,191). It stays ahead of the Kia Sportage (139,428), Hyundai Tucson (136,359) and Nissan Qashqai (128,919), which complete the top ten. The slim gaps between several of these models show just how fiercely contested this part of the market has become.
Over the last few years, European buyers’ appetite for SUVs and crossovers has surged. These vehicles expanded their market share from 41% in 2020 to 59% in 2025, while hatchbacks slipped from 35% to 23.9% and volumes fell from 4.2 million to 2.9 million. The trend looks firmly entrenched, with practicality and perceived versatility continuing to pull buyers away from traditional small cars.
