Li Auto recalls 11,411 2024 MEGA EVs over coolant corrosion and battery safety fixes
Li Auto has announced a recall of 11,411 2024 MEGA vehicles after identifying a defect in the cooling system that can corrode aluminum plates and cause coolant leaks.
According to China’s State Administration for Market Regulation, the coolant’s insufficient corrosion resistance creates a risk of failure for the battery pack and the front motor controller. In rare cases, that could lead to overheating and battery thermal runaway.
The recall is set to start on November 7, 2025. Owners will have the coolant, the battery pack, and the motor controller replaced at no cost.
The company has also introduced remote monitoring that warns owners in advance of potential leaks. If a fault is detected, drivers are advised to stop and wait for assistance. Pairing early-warning software with hardware replacements looks like a pragmatic way to steady confidence after the issue, and the scale of the action makes it one of the largest recalls among new 2024 models in China.
