Kia EV2 revealed early: compact city EV with up to 400 km range
Kia was set to unveil the new EV2 at the Brussels motor show any day now, but the model surfaced ahead of schedule. Judging by a video from a Norwegian journalist, the brand’s most compact electric crossover has already been seen in the metal, and the short clip quickly spread online. For Kia, this is one of the key urban debuts of early 2026: the EV2 targets those who find the EV3 too large and too costly, and that positioning feels well judged.
The main takeaway is that the production car barely strays from the concept’s design. The front end looks striking and mature, while the lighting is more practical: slim decorative elements have given way to vertical projectors for low and high beams. The front bumper keeps its aluminum insert, now shaped around a license plate. The silhouette and flanks remain close to the show car, with the usual production-ready tweaks: mechanical flush door handles, added roof rails, larger mirrors, and gloss black A-pillars. The changes read as smart, real-world adjustments rather than compromises.
On the technical side, the essentials for this class are being promised: up to 150 hp, a maximum range of up to 400 km, fast charging, and a modern cabin with two screens and over-the-air updates. The pricing target—under 30,000 euros—sounds ambitious, and production is planned for Slovakia. If Kia delivers on those figures, the EV2 could emerge as one of the more convincing city EVs of early 2026.
