Renault opens European sales of the new Twingo Electric

Renault has opened European sales of the new Twingo Electric—a compact city EV that returns to the brand’s lineup in an all-electric guise. At launch, the company starts not with the base model but with the pricier Techno trim, priced from €21,600. The more affordable Evolution version, estimated at around €20,000, will arrive in spring—a deliberate move that steers early buyers toward a richer spec.

Both versions share the same hardware: a 60 kW (82 hp) electric motor and a 27.5 kWh battery, delivering up to 262 km of range according to factory figures. For the city-car segment, that target suits everyday trips, and the compact footprint should make the Twingo easy to thread through dense streets and into tight parking spots.

The differences sit in the equipment list. The entry-level Evolution brings a 7-inch infotainment screen with smartphone support, climate control, and rear parking sensors. The Techno trim adds built-in navigation, the ability to fold the front passenger seatback forward, and a One-Pedal-Drive mode that lets the driver manage propulsion and deceleration with a single pedal—especially handy in stop-and-go traffic.
