First look at the Lexus ES Modellista Prototype and its new accessory range

Lexus unveiled the ES Modellista Prototype in Tokyo—the first tuned take on the new-generation sedan, previewing the official accessory range. The debut took place at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026, and the market launch is expected in spring. The company noted that the prototype illustrates Modellista’s new design philosophy, GEOMETRICAL Organic, focused on pairing precise lines with smooth volumes.

Design and signature elements

The aerodynamic kit adds a front spoiler, extended side skirts, and a rear diffuser, set off by black accents along the lower edge of the body. These strokes visually lower the silhouette and emphasize a planted, sporty stance. For the ES, illuminated sills are offered for the first time with a soft gradient from green to blue—an aesthetic cue that now serves as a calling card for the latest Modellista range.

Engineering and materials

Beyond the exterior package, matte galvanic mirror caps, two-tone moldings, and new 21-inch forged wheels are offered. Each element is meant to elevate the car’s appearance while preserving factory aerodynamics and avoiding any changes to the GA-K platform—an intentionally conservative approach that keeps the base setup intact.

Market relevance

Lexus is leaning into personalization in the premium segment, and the ES remains a key choice for buyers who prize comfort and design. The Modellista version strengthens the sedan’s role as a stylish alternative to German business models, adding a bit more character without disturbing the brand’s calm, refined tone.
