Subaru brings three EVs to Europe: E-Outback, Uncharted, Solterra MY26
The 2026 Brussels Motor Show marked a pivot for Subaru: the brand brought three electric models to Europe at once, with the new E-Outback at center stage. It’s the Outback in spirit—a practical, high-riding wagon—only now without a tailpipe, as reported by 32CARS.RU.
The hardware sounds up to date: a 74.7 kWh battery, a dual-motor setup with 280 kW, and a 0–100 km/h sprint in about 4.4 seconds. The WLTP range is quoted at roughly 500 km, and fast charging from 10 to 80% takes around half an hour even in sub-zero weather—an important touch for a 2026 car that’s meant to work through all seasons.
What matters just as much is that Subaru didn’t rewrite the model’s character. All-wheel drive stays, there’s 210 mm of ground clearance, Dual X-Mode, and the ability to tow up to 1.5 tons—clear signals that heading for the woods remains part of its DNA. Inside, space is promised to surpass the Solterra, while the trunk is sized for real trips rather than show-floor luggage.
Alongside the E-Outback, the compact electric crossover Uncharted premiered with both FWD and AWD versions and a claimed range of up to 600 km. The Solterra in MY26 guise gains more power, quicker acceleration, and improved charging, while retaining its five Euro NCAP stars.
It’s a rare move in today’s market: rather than building an EV like everyone else, Subaru appears to be carrying into the battery era the traits long loved by its audience. If the E-Outback delivers the same confidence when the asphalt runs out, it could emerge as one of the most compelling all-rounders in its segment—without asking for excuses just because it’s electric.
