First official images of the 2027 Kia Telluride SUV
Kia America has released the first official images of the 2027 Telluride, the second generation of the brand’s flagship crossover. The premiere is set for November 20 at the Los Angeles Auto Show, where the model is poised to be one of the year’s headline debuts. The new iteration succeeds the well-received 2019 version, which over six years came to embody comfort and stature within Kia’s range.
Early images suggest the SUV keeps its familiar proportions while projecting a stronger, more assured presence. Vertical LED daytime running lights, a substantial hood with twin creases, enlarged wheel arches, and a dual panoramic roof give it added gravitas. The body has grown slightly, echoing the recent update of the related 2026 Hyundai Palisade. The stance reads more confident, and the detailing adds presence without tipping into excess.
Under the hood, familiar powertrains are expected: a 3.5-liter Smartstream V6 rated at 287 hp and a hybrid setup based on a 2.5-liter turbo engine delivering 329 hp. The approach leans toward thoughtful evolution—performance that should remain effortless, with the hybrid broadening appeal.
Kia intends to maintain the Telluride’s status as the brand’s most popular model in the U.S. In the third quarter of 2025, Hyundai and Kia jointly sold 459,000 vehicles, reinforcing their place among the four largest automakers in America. The new Telluride is designed to consolidate that momentum in the premium SUV space by combining technology, generous space, and Kia’s signature design. If the balance of comfort and practicality that defined the first generation carries over, this update looks right on target.
