NIO ES8 delivers over 50,000 units in 120 days, setting a record
NIO has announced a significant milestone for its flagship electric SUV. As of January 18, 2026, exactly 120 days after deliveries began, the number of new NIO ES8 vehicles delivered to customers has surpassed 50,000. In the segment of large premium electric crossovers, this represents one of the fastest market launches in China.
The new NIO ES8 was officially unveiled on September 20. The model is available in six- and seven-seat configurations.
The ES8 is one of the largest electric SUVs on the Chinese market. Its body stretches 5,280 mm in length, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm. Inside, it features a full-width Skyline screen across the dashboard, an updated NOMI multimedia system, a horizontal central display, and 111 physical buttons—a rarity in modern electric vehicles.
Technically, the model is built on a 900-volt architecture. Its dual electric motors deliver a combined 520 kW and 700 N·m, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.97 seconds. The standard 102 kWh battery supports 4C charging and offers a range of up to 635 km on the CLTC cycle. In the future, NIO plans to introduce a 120 kWh battery of its own development with 5C support.
The success of the ES8 demonstrates that the market is ready for large, expensive electric crossovers, provided they offer not just technology but also genuine comfort, power, and flexible ownership schemes.
