Ram has quietly introduced the production 1500 REV — an extended-range electric pickup with a gasoline generator. Previously known as the Ramcharger, this vehicle will be a 2027 model year release, with production starting closer to the second half of the season.

Key Aspect of the Model

The REV combines a full electric vehicle architecture with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 generator that is not mechanically connected to the wheels. Its 92 kWh battery provides 230 km of pure electric range, while the total range with a full tank reaches 1100 km. Front and rear electric motors produce 647 horsepower, promising traction on par with top gasoline versions.

Technical Details and Design

The pickup uses a CCS1 port and can accept up to 145 kW, adding 80 km of range in 10 minutes. The drivetrain is electric with two EDM modules, and the frame allows for a completely flat cabin floor. The REV features an illuminated grille, eight-spoke wheels, and signature decorative elements.

Significance for the Market

Ram will become the first American brand to bring an extended-range electric pickup to market. Against the backdrop of slow infrastructure development, the REV addresses a key concern for buyers — charging anxiety. The model aims to occupy a niche between traditional EV pickups and hybrids, offering range comparable to gasoline trucks.
