Corvette Stars & Steel Limited Edition at Detroit Auto Show
Learn about the Corvette Stars & Steel Limited Edition, a 250-unit series for the C8 lineup, with details on the pre-production model and charity auction.
General Motors previously unveiled the Stars & Steel collection to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States. A key model in this series is the Corvette Stars & Steel Limited Edition for the C8 lineup, spanning from Stingray to ZR1X. Only 250 units are planned, and each is supposed to feature a numbered plaque inside the cabin indicating its place in the series.
However, at the 2026 Detroit Auto Show, a Corvette ZR1X Stars & Steel Edition was displayed without this plaque. Foreign publications confirmed that the interior identifier was indeed missing, which raised questions among attendees. Chevrolet representatives explained that the show car was a pre-production model, hence the absence of the numbered plaque. This does not signal any changes to the specification of production vehicles. Customer cars from the limited series are still expected to receive the plaque and be numbered within the 250 units.
Separately, it's reported that another Corvette ZR1X with Stars & Steel styling will be auctioned at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale later this month. This car is positioned as a separate project for a charity sale, not part of the official batch.
The Stars & Steel package will be offered for coupes and convertibles, but only in 3LT and 3LZ versions. Two combinations are available: Arctic White with a Santorini Blue interior or Black with an Adrenaline Red interior. The package includes exclusive design elements, such as stripes inspired by the American flag, "250" graphics, special wheels, red accents, and black exhaust tips.
