Mercedes-Benz has stopped taking orders for the fully electric version of the legendary G-Class, the G 580 EQ, since January 2026 due to full production capacity.

Company representatives clarified that this is not a discontinuation of the model, but rather a temporary measure until the start of the new model year in April 2026.

Demand for the electric G-Class variant remains strong. In 2025, approximately 50,000 G-Class vehicles were delivered, with electric models accounting for roughly 13% of that figure.

Customers wishing to order a G 580 EQ will have to wait until April 2026, when orders for the new model year's electric SUVs will reopen.
