Ford and Lincoln vehicles from the 2024-2025 model years will soon lose compatibility with Amazon Alexa, as the automaker completes its full transition to Google Assistant. This move marks the end of Alexa integration in cars equipped with Ford or Lincoln Digital Experience software.Amazon Alexa first appeared in Ford and Lincoln models back in 2017, allowing users to control vehicle systems by connecting an Alexa-enabled smartphone. From 2021 onward, the voice assistant evolved, becoming directly integrated into the vehicles' built-in multimedia systems.Now, Ford has announced that starting early this year, the Amazon Alexa feature will be removed from all 2024-2025 Ford and Lincoln vehicles running Ford or Lincoln Digital Experience software. This is due to the "discontinuation of Alexa services in all Ford/Lincoln Digital Experience vehicles." As a result, the Alexa app can no longer be downloaded on these cars, having been replaced by Google Assistant.
