Geely to open 1,000 European dealerships and launch 15 models
Geely expands in Europe with 1,000 dealerships and 15 models spanning EVs and plug-in hybrids. Launch starts with EX5, rolling out to Germany, UK and more.
China’s Geely has announced a sweeping expansion of its core brand in Europe. The company plans to open around 1,000 dealerships and roll out 15 models over the next three years. The lineup will span battery-electric cars and plug-in hybrids, a move that signals a bid for mainstream visibility across the continent.
Until now, Geely has been present in Europe mostly through premium names—Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, Zeekr and Lynk & Co. The company now intends to bring its own models to Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain and Poland. The first step has been the launch of the EX5 electric crossover in Southeast Europe and Britain, a start that suggests a focus on broad appeal.
According to Dataforce, Geely’s European sales in the first nine months of 2025 rose to 1,829 vehicles, with the BinYue (Coolray) crossover as the bestseller. Analysts say the expansion could intensify competition among Chinese automakers in Europe, especially in the hybrid and electric segments. If the strategy holds, it is poised to keep pressure on rivals to sharpen their offerings in electrified cars.
