Ford Bronco hybrid plans and current engine lineup
Learn about Ford Bronco's current gasoline engines, planned hybrid version, and hybrid technologies for fuel efficiency, performance, and off-grid power.
The Ford Bronco is currently available with only two types of gasoline engines, delivering power and torque that provide excellent performance and off-road capability. Despite this limited engine selection, the automaker plans to expand its offerings by introducing alternative powertrain options.
Based on comments from Jim Farley, it appears Ford intends to add a hybrid version of the Bronco, though the timing for this new variant remains unclear.
For the American market specifically, it was emphasized that the electric Bronco model designed for the Chinese market will not be sold in the United States.
Ford is actively developing three main types of hybrid technologies. The first focuses on maximizing fuel efficiency, the second aims to enhance vehicle dynamics and sporty driving characteristics, while the third allows the use of battery power for off-grid applications, such as powering outdoor appliances or emergency lighting.
