Alfa Romeo has opened pre-orders in Malaysia for two models: the Giulia sedan and the Stelvio SUV. Both are offered exclusively in the Veloce specification, powered by a muscular 2.0-liter turbocharged engine delivering 280 hp and 400 Nm of torque.

The rear-wheel-drive models sprint from zero to 100 km/h in an impressive 5.7 seconds, aided by a ZF automatic gearbox known for reliability and lively acceleration. With those numbers and a decidedly sporty stance, the Italian marque is positioning itself against premium stalwarts BMW and Mercedes-Benz—on paper, a credible challenge.

The brand also aims to draw buyers by localizing production in Malaysia. Building the cars locally would significantly reduce costs, broadening access and reinforcing Alfa Romeo’s footing in the market—a pragmatic move that should resonate with enthusiasts keeping an eye on value.
