GAC Trumpchi has officially opened pre-orders for the updated 2026 model year M8 HEV minivan. The vehicle is offered in two versions, with a starting price of 229,800 yuan, positioning it in the premium but mass-market segment.

The main focus is on the hybrid powertrain. The M8 HEV features a proprietary system with a two-stage operation scheme and two electric motors, capable of functioning in both series and parallel modes. It's paired with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine specifically developed for hybrid systems. According to the manufacturer, a single tank of fuel can cover 1,057 kilometers, making it one of the longest-range vehicles in its class.

Details about the trim levels haven't been revealed yet, but GAC emphasizes that even the base version is geared toward high equipment levels. For pre-orders, the company is offering an extended set of bonuses, including increased discounts for early reservations, additional trade-in benefits, government subsidies under fleet renewal programs, and favorable financing terms with no down payment required.

In terms of dimensions, the new M8 HEV is likely to be similar to the current model. For reference, the current hybrid M8 measures 5,212 mm in length, 1,893 mm in width, 1,823 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,070 mm. This confirms its positioning as a large family and executive minivan designed for long-distance travel and high comfort with low fuel consumption.
