Learn about the 2027 Cadillac Optiq production start on June 1, 2026, specs, and key updates. Get details on this electric crossover's timeline and features.
Cadillac has finalized the production timeline for the 2027 model year Optiq. According to sources, serial assembly of the electric crossover will begin on June 1, 2026, at GM's plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. Dealers will start accepting orders on April 16, with production of the 2026 version concluding on May 29.
Significant changes for the 2027 Optiq are not anticipated. The model already received its major updates the previous year. In 2026, the lineup gained the sporty Optiq-V variant, introduced new styling options, saw adjustments to powertrain output, and made rear-wheel drive standard for base trims.
Built on the GM BEV3 platform, the Cadillac Optiq is offered with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. The base version produces approximately 315 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, while the all-wheel-drive variant delivers 440 hp and 675 Nm. The most powerful Optiq-V generates 519 hp and 881 Nm, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.
As the brand's entry-level electric vehicle, the Optiq sits below the Lyriq in the lineup. It will continue to play a key role in Cadillac's strategy for the 2026 new-car market, which focuses on expanding its range of accessible premium electric cars.
