BYD updates Atto 3 with new Atto 3 Evo electric crossover
BYD Atto 3 Evo features rear-wheel drive, 74.8 kWh battery, 510 km range, 800-volt architecture, and 220 kW charging. Learn about performance and updates.
BYD has updated its Atto 3 electric crossover with the new Atto 3 Evo. The most significant change is a switch from front-wheel to rear-wheel drive, paired with a larger 74.8 kWh battery that replaces the previous 60.5 kWh unit. This boosts the driving range from 418 km to 510 km.
The rear-wheel-drive version features an electric motor producing 308 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque, cutting the 0-100 km/h acceleration time from 7.3 seconds to 5.5 seconds. BYD also introduced an all-wheel-drive variant with dual motors, delivering 443 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque. This model sprints to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, though its range is reduced to 470 km.
The Atto 3 Evo now uses an 800-volt architecture instead of a 400-volt system. Maximum charging power has increased from 88 kW to 220 kW, allowing the battery to recharge from 10% to 80% in 25 minutes. The battery also supports powering external devices with up to 3 kW of output.
Moving the motor to the rear enabled BYD to implement a new multi-link rear suspension and expand trunk space to 490 liters. Under the hood, a front storage compartment now offers 101 liters of capacity. Inside, the dashboard and multimedia software have been updated, and the gear selector has been relocated to the steering column.
