Toyota has unexpectedly brought back the storied Scion name, unveiling the Scion 01 concept at the SEMA 2025 show in Las Vegas. As automotive outlet SPEEDME.RU notes, it’s been a decade since the youth-focused brand was shuttered, and now it returns in a new guise: a tech-forward hybrid built for active off-road adventures.

The Scion 01 is styled like a futuristic buggy, with boxy surfaces, chunky tires, a prominent light bar, and an integrated winch. The cabin sticks to a minimalist script, yet the red-trimmed sport seats with four-point harnesses give it a purposeful, athletic feel.

Power comes from a turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid with more than 300 hp, likely the same i-Force Max setup used in the Toyota Tacoma. There’s also a Silent mode that lets it move solely on electric power.

The frame meets FIA and SCORE standards, positioning the concept as a legitimate competition-ready prototype. The move suggests Toyota didn’t just dust off an old badge; it reframed it, signaling that Scion’s second act is about technology, capability, and the pull of real-world adventure.
