Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a limited-edition luxury sedan, the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 V12 Edition. This model pays tribute to the historic Maybach Zeppelin and will be produced in just 50 units for the global market.

Some of these cars are headed to Japan, where only five will be sold. Due to the limited production run, the manufacturer may use a lottery system to allocate orders among buyers.

A key feature of this version is its two-tone body paint: the upper section is finished in Manufaktur Olive, while the lower part is Obsidian Black. The body is enhanced with silver decorative lines and signature 20-inch Maybach wheels. Painting each car takes about 10 days, roughly twice as long as for standard versions of the model. The trim also includes 24-karat gold accents.

The interior features Nappa leather upholstery, two-tone trim in Manufaktur Saddle Brown and Black, and gold Maybach logos on the headrests. A plaque with the car's individual number is installed in the cabin.

Under the hood lies a 6.0-liter V12 engine with twin turbocharging. This engine delivers 621 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 97 km/h in about 4.3 seconds.

Pricing for the limited edition starts at approximately 53.99 million yen, or around $343,000. This model highlights how, even in an era of electrification, manufacturers continue to introduce exclusive and luxurious new vehicles for 2026.
