Tesla's latest innovation for the Model Y L is the exclusive Immersive Sound X feature. This new audio mode aims to transform in-car music listening into a cinematic experience. First introduced in China in October 2025, it's now available in Australia and New Zealand, highlighting Tesla's regional approach to premium upgrades.

Essentially, Immersive Sound X employs real-time sound extraction technology to create a customizable 3D soundstage. Advanced algorithms analyze audio tracks, separating direct sounds like vocals or main instruments from background elements such as echo and reverb. The system then directs direct sounds to the center while ambient sounds go to side and rear speakers, simulating an expansive virtual environment. What sets Immersive Sound X apart from the standard Immersive Sound used in other Tesla models is its enhanced audio processing. The Model Y L features an 18-speaker system with a subwoofer, compared to the 15-speaker setup in the previous premium audio system of the Model Y Long Range.
