Next-gen Chevy Silverado ZR2 spotted with key updates for 2027
General Motors tests the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2, featuring 35-inch off-road tires, aggressive styling, and enhanced tech to rival Ford and Ram trucks.
General Motors is continuing to test the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado ZR2, set to debut alongside the refreshed Silverado 1500 in 2027. A recent prototype has shed much of its camouflage, revealing key design details.
At the front, the truck features a redesigned bumper with increased ground clearance and a large protective skid plate. The grille looks more aggressive, and the tow hooks retain their bright red color. A front camera is visible, and the placement of the ZR2 badge has been adjusted.
One of the major updates is the switch to 35-inch Goodyear off-road tires, up from the current 33-inch wheels. This change aims to improve off-road capability and address a shortcoming of the previous model.
At the rear, the pickup has revised fenders, a new rear window, and an exhaust system with four outlets. Interior updates and expanded technology features are also expected. The engine lineup may include a new-generation gasoline V8. This model is positioned to compete with the Ford F-150 Raptor and Ram RHO.
