The 2027 model year GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado pickups will feature a fresh design, new powertrain options, updated architecture, and new cabin technologies. Additionally, these models will include a new display positioned in front of the front passenger seat.

According to sources familiar with the situation, this new passenger-side screen will not be standard equipment but will only be available in certain versions. This passenger display aligns with a growing trend in the automotive industry where cabin space is increasingly dedicated to digital devices, incorporating the latest infotainment systems.

In practice, the new screen is expected to serve multiple functions, primarily for entertainment—such as streaming video and accessing multimedia apps. It can also assist with navigation, allowing the passenger to view maps, plan routes, or check surroundings, for example during towing.

Unlike the wide-format display that spans the entire dashboard, as seen in the all-electric Cadillac Escalade IQ, the 2027 GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado will use a separate passenger screen rather than a single continuous panel.

Beyond the new passenger display, the GMC Sierra and its sibling Silverado are set to receive comprehensive updates. Under the hood, both pickups will feature GM's 6th generation Small Block V8 gasoline engine along with a new hybrid powertrain.
