Omoda 7 preview: 2026 hybrid SUV with 90 km EV range
Discover the Omoda 7, a 2026 hybrid SUV from £29,915, with up to 90 km EV range, a 15.6-inch display, and European tuning. Launch set for January 2026.
Chinese brand Omoda will introduce the new Omoda 7 in January 2026, the fourth model in its European lineup. Positioned between the Omoda 5 and Omoda 9, it promises a broad choice of powertrains and a sharp starting price of £29,915. The positioning and pricing look thoughtfully chosen for a tightly contested segment.
The model will be offered with a 1.6-litre petrol engine rated at 145 hp or a 201 hp hybrid setup that combines a 1.5-litre engine, an electric motor and an 18.3 kWh battery. Electric-only range is quoted at up to 90 km, which surpasses several pricier rivals, including the Range Rover Evoque and Kia Sportage. On paper, that figure stands out among mainstream hybrid SUVs.
Even in standard trim, the Omoda 7 includes a 15.6-inch display, climate control, a heated steering wheel and a Sony audio system. The Noble version adds a panoramic roof and ventilated seats, a package that reads as well balanced rather than excessive.
Developed at the brand’s German R&D centre and tailored for European roads, the Omoda 7 is clearly aimed at buyers seeking value without feeling short-changed. If the execution matches the spec sheet, it could reasonably earn a place among the more compelling affordable hybrid SUVs.
