Subaru has introduced a Japan-only special edition of the BRZ called the STI Sport Type RA. The upgrades draw directly from the BRZ CNF that competes in the Super Taikyu series. Under the hood is a revised 2.4-liter FA24 with improved balancing of rotating components to cut vibration and sharpen response, a focus that should make the engine feel smoother and more eager in everyday use.

The coupe rolls on 18-inch BBS wheels and pairs ZF dampers with Brembo brakes featuring gold calipers. It also borrows a rear differential housing with cooling fins from the race car. The STI package adds spoilers, chassis braces to increase rigidity, and a sport exhaust, while a large carbon rear wing is offered at extra cost. The hardware points to thoughtful, track-bred detail, and the visual touches underscore the car’s intent without overstatement.

The model is offered exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox and a shift-assist system. Just 300 cars will be built, available only via lottery, with applications accepted until November 30. The manual-only approach suits the BRZ’s purist character, even if the allocation method will make this edition a rare sight.
