French brand DS has unveiled the updated N°4, a premium model available as the all-electric E-Tense or a Plug-in Hybrid. The headline change is pricing parity: both versions start at 43,157 euros before incentives and promotions.

The Ligne Business trim brings DS Drive Assist, adaptive cruise control, the DS Iris infotainment system with AI, the Air Clean Cabin climate setup, LED lighting, and an expanded suite of driver aids.

The hybrid pairs a 1.6-liter gasoline engine rated at 180 hp with a 125-hp electric motor, delivering a combined 225 hp and 0–100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. Electric-only range has been increased to 81 km on the WLTP cycle.

The fully electric N°4 E-Tense uses a 157 kW motor and a 58.3 kWh battery. It offers up to 450 km of range and supports fast charging at up to 120 kW. Both versions carry an eight-year warranty.

With both powertrains priced the same, buyers can choose based on how they plan to use the car rather than what the sticker dictates. It’s a pragmatic approach that shifts the focus to daily needs—quiet EV commuting or the flexibility of a plug-in hybrid—without nudging drivers into compromises they don’t want.
