Volkswagen is preparing to debut the electric ID. Polo, one of the key models in its new lineup. The premiere is expected in late April 2026, with sales starting by the end of summer.

The model will feature updated styling with slim headlights and a light bar connecting them. At the rear, full-LED taillights with new light graphics will be installed. This exterior design will serve as the foundation for future electric vehicles from the brand.

Inside, the manufacturer has moved away from some touch-sensitive elements in favor of physical buttons on the steering wheel and center console. However, a 13-inch multimedia screen and a digital instrument cluster with an analog display option will be retained.

The ID. Polo will be offered with electric motors producing 115, 135, and 211 horsepower, along with a later-arriving GTI version with 226 horsepower. The main 52 kWh battery will provide a range of 420–450 km, with a version featuring a smaller battery to be added in 2027.

Production will be established in Spain, with a starting price around €30,000. In the context of urban electric cars, the model will become a crucial part of Volkswagen's strategy in the mass market segment.
