The Skoda Scala compact hatchback's position in the Australian car market has become highly unstable following a sharp sales decline to a historic low. Only 249 units were sold in 2025, which is nearly half the 416 units sold in 2024.

This situation is so serious that the Czech automaker's leadership has decided to reassess the model's future sales prospects in Australia.

Lucy Kuhn, director of Skoda's Australian branch, stated officially that the Scala's future will depend on the outcomes of additional analysis and a deep study of market trends.

Previously, major rental firms were the primary buyers of the Skoda Scala. However, demand from this corporate segment has now significantly decreased, causing the model's overall performance to drop.
