Chevrolet Sonic to feature updated brand emblem in May debut
Chevrolet Sonic launches in May with a new bowtie emblem, reflecting GM's global identity and design trends like slimmer lights and grilles.
The Chevrolet Sonic will debut in May featuring the brand's new bowtie emblem, according to Alexander Ameri, head of GM design in South America. He explained that the changes align with industry trends toward smaller rear lights and radiator grilles, made possible by advances in lighting, powertrains, and manufacturing. All this ties into the brand's new global identity.
Specifically, the updated Chevrolet logo has a more horizontal bowtie design, with black becoming the dominant color across all versions. The company states that this new stylized form better suits next-generation automotive design trends and the evolution of lighting systems, where headlights are becoming increasingly slim.
On the Chevrolet Sonic, the new brand emblem will be positioned at the top of the front grille, on the rear door, on the center caps of the 17-inch wheels, on the multifunction steering wheel, and in other locations.
