Hyundai Motor America has announced a major recall of Genesis vehicles due to a potential fuel leak in the engine compartment, affecting approximately 94,760 cars.

The recall covers a wide range of Genesis sedans and SUVs. The affected models include:

  • GV70: 2022-2026 model years
  • GV80: 2021-2025 model years
  • G80: 2021-2025 model years
  • G90: 2023-2025 model years

The danger stems from the connection point between the fuel tube and the fuel rail. Investigators found that a leak of flammable gasoline into the engine compartment could occur at this location. Given the high operating temperatures of the engine, any such leak could lead to an immediate fire.

Genesis has confirmed that all necessary repairs will be performed at no cost to owners of the affected vehicles.
