The CRATER concept will step onto the global stage during a press conference at AutoMobility LA 2025 in Los Angeles, California, on November 20 at 9:45 a.m. PT.

The CRATER Concept is a compact SUV that serves as a design study channeling an adventurous spirit. Drawing on the imagery of extreme conditions, it was developed at the Hyundai America Technical Center (HATCI) in Irvine, California.

The project was created to underscore the same character and reliability seen in Hyundai’s XRT family, including the IONIQ 5 XRT, SANTA CRUZ XRT, and the new PALISADE XRT PRO.

Further details will be shared during the public presentation. Framing it as a design study puts the focus on exploration and attitude rather than specs at this stage — a tidy way to build intrigue ahead of the show.
