BMW iX3 Long: New Electric Crossover with Extended Wheelbase
BMW reveals the new electric iX3 Long Wheelbase at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show. Longer wheelbase, 800V architecture, and over 900 km range.
At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, BMW unveiled the new generation of the electric crossover iX3 in a long-wheelbase version. The model was first shown prior to the exhibition during a BMW brand event.

The key change is a wheelbase extended by 108 mm, now reaching 3005 mm. All the extra space goes to second-row passengers. Overall length is 4885 mm, width is 1895 mm, and height is 1635 mm.

The design follows the brand's new styling, with an emphasis on lighting technology. Up front, there's a three-dimensional illuminated grille and integrated light graphics. The taillights are L-shaped with a depth effect and gradient lighting.
Under the skin, the new iX3 rides on an 800-volt architecture and uses the sixth generation of BMW's eDrive system. The powertrain features two electric motors: a 116 kW unit at the front and a 235 kW motor at the rear.

Claimed range exceeds 900 km on the CLTC cycle. A new battery technology with cylindrical cells and an updated energy management system are also used.
This iX3 version aims to boost rear passenger comfort and electric drive efficiency, staying within BMW's strategy to expand its EV lineup.
