A recent test has revealed the real-world capabilities of the BMW iX3, even in challenging winter conditions with temperatures hovering around freezing.

The test vehicle was equipped with large 21-inch wheels. While the official WLTP range is 782 kilometers, the electric SUV managed to cover exactly 1,000 kilometers in a record time of 8 hours and 55 minutes.

This means the iX3's efficiency significantly outperforms most current rivals, notably the Mercedes-Benz EQS 450+. The achievement is attributed to the large battery capacity, fast charging, and high overall drivetrain efficiency.

These results also raise expectations for the upcoming BMW i3 NA0 compact electric hatchback, which is expected to feature improved aerodynamics and an increased WLTP-rated range.
