The FAW Toyota joint venture has unveiled the refreshed Corolla, the world’s best-selling model. The front end has been extensively reworked in the vein of the latest Camry and Prius, a treatment that ties the compact to the brand’s current design language and gives it a cleaner, sharper look.

At the back, the changes are more restrained. The familiar dark-tinted taillamps remain and are shared by both gasoline and hybrid versions. Overall dimensions are 4710x1780x1435 mm, with a 2750-mm wheelbase, indicating a noticeable increase in length. Luggage capacity stands at 470 liters. Among the available options are 17-inch alloy wheels and a sunroof.

Inside, the updated Corolla adopts a digital instrument cluster with an 8.8-inch display and a 12.9-inch touchscreen for the multimedia system. Even the base model includes the Toyota Pilot suite of driver assists. The new screens make the cabin feel more up to date while keeping the interface straightforward.

The new Toyota Corolla offers two powertrains. The hybrid uses a naturally aspirated 1.8-liter engine rated at 98 hp, likely borrowed from the Prius. The gasoline version is fitted with a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine producing 171 hp.
